  • Departure Information

    In St. Thomas you are required to be at the airport 3 hours before your departure time. Our Villas are around 30 minutes from the airport, therefore you will need to leave the Villa 3.5 hours before your departure time.

  • Electricity

    Electricity is very expensive in developing countries. Please conserve as much as possible and turn off the air condition units when not in use. The power can go out from time to time. Do not be alarmed. It is usually not out for extended periods of time. Electricity is very precious. Please save energy.

  • Grocery Store

    Please keep in mind that you will need to pick up groceries and necessities that you will need during your stay. We suggest picking up the following items: bags of ice, dish and laundry detergent, coffee, creamer, sugar, coffee filters, any cooking supplies / condiments that you will need, tin foil.

  • Will our cell phones work in St. Thomas?

    Yes, you can check with your provider to make sure you get the best plan for calling internationally.

  • Is there a property manager in case we have any issues?

    Yes, we will provide you with his/her contact information before you travel. The property manager will meet you at the Villa upon your arrival.

  • Do I need an electrical adapter for travel in St. Thomas?

    The outlets are the same as in the US. No adapters are required.

  • Is there a Grocery store nearby?

    Yes, there are plenty of markets throughout the island.

  • Do the villas have internet and cable TV service?

    St. Thomas has its own TV networks much like here in the states. All of our villas have internet service, though please be prepared for service speeds slower than that which you may be accustomed to.

  • Is travel insurance available?

    No, we do not provide travel insurance. Primus Villas offers Trip Protection Coverage as an option to purchase. The Trip Protection Coverage will allow you to cancel at any time, for any reason (weather, family emergency, sickness, work, etc.), and give you an additional year to travel. Primus Villas strongly encourages all clients to purchase the Trip Protection Coverage. Please ask your concierge for details.

  • Can we hire a driver for the week?

    Yes, we can arrange a personal driver for your group for the week for an additional cost.

  • Do I need an International Driver’s License to drive in St. Thomas?

    Please keep in mind that a US valid driver’s license is required in St. Thomas and traffic operates on the opposite side of the road than that traditionally experienced in the United States. If this concept intimidates you, we recommend allowing Primus Villas to book a private transfer on your behalf to ensure both safe passage and a stress-free vacation.

  • Can we rent cars when we arrive?

    Yes, car rental services (Avis, Budget, and Hertz) are available at the airport. These services should be arranged well in advance to ensure availability. GPS services do not typically work on St. Thomas because they lack a standard address system which can make it difficult to get around.

  • How do we get from the airport to the Villa?

    Private transportation can be arranged from the airport to the Villa. The taxi service in St. Thomas is very expensive and we do not allow local taxis on our properties. By far the most convenient option is our private transportation that will save you the hassle and the wasted time with a friendly personal driver who is ready and waiting the moment you get off the plane

  • What airport do we fly in to?

    The airport you arrive at in St. Thomas is Cyril E. King, and the airport code for booking flights is STT. The “other” St. Thomas airports are the seaplane terminal which only hosts flights to/from St. Croix and the Private Jet Center. When you land at the airport in St. Thomas, you may be surprised to find that you will exit your plane via a set of stairs. Keep this in mind when packing your carry-on luggage as you won’t want to drag heavy bags down the stairway. As you enter the airport, you will be greeted with a free shot of Cruzan rum! A restaurant and facilities are available near baggage claim.

  • Are there health facilities in St. Thomas?

    Very good hospitals with well-trained doctors and medical professionals are available. We offer MedJet Insurance that you may purchase before your trip in case medical evacuation services are needed. This insurance is good for one year and can be used on other trips that you take within that year. Should medical assistance be needed, walk-in clinics are available to provide immediate care. For more serious injuries or conditions, St. Thomas and St. Croix offer full hospital emergency facilities, and St. John has two community healthcare centers.

  • What is the legal drinking age?

    The legal drinking age is 18. Rules against drinking and driving are comparable to those of the U.S.

  • What is the government of the Islands?

    The U.S. Virgin Islands are an unincorporated U.S. territory, self-governed by elected officials.

  • What is the Location of the U.S. Virgin Islands?

    The location of the U.S. Virgin Islands are 40 miles east of Puerto Rico, 1,100 miles southeast of Miami and 1,500 miles southeast of New York.

    Yes – as with any vacation destination, we recommend locking up your valuables at all times.

  • What language is spoken in St. Thomas?

    English is the official language of St. Thomas, though you may hear some Creole, Patois, Spanish and various Caribbean dialects from time to time.

  • Will we be provided with a final itinerary?

    Yes, Primus Villas will prepare and send a comprehensive trip itinerary prior to your departure date, complete with all planned excursions, final details and contact numbers for your convenience.

  • What time is check-in/check-out?

    Check-in time is 3:00pm or later on Saturday, and check-out time is by 11:00am the following Friday.

  • Is maid service available?

    Yes, we can arrange for a daily maid service at an additional fee.

  • How many bedrooms are in the villas?

    All of our villas have at least four bedrooms.

  • Do we need to bring soap? What about towels?

    Primus Villas provides a starter supply of bath and dish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Please bring your preferred brand of shampoo. Shampoo is available at the local grocery stores, though your brand is not guaranteed. All necessary towels and linens are provided at the villa. There is no need to bring those items along on your trip.

  • How long is the drive from the airport to the villa?

    The drive time from the airport to our villas is roughly 30 minutes, depending on the home.

  • Is the water safe to drink?

    The water in each of our villas is considered safe for drinking. We do recommend bottled water as a precaution to eliminate all risk.
